Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does MFC think my hospital bill will have errors on it?
A: MFC has been in business for 16 years and 99% of the time hospital bills have errors on them. It’s just the way it is.
Q: Do hospitals purposefully bill incorrectly?
A: No, hospitals do not purposefully bill incorrectly. People make errors. It is as simple as that.
Q: Why do hospitals bill incorrectly?
A: All items on hospital bills are coded. Sometimes, the wrong code is written down which may kick out the wrong charge on the bill. Or, pharmacy items may not get credited, etc.
Q: How much time does the process take to save me money?
A:
For Hospital Bill Review, the whole process takes approximately 30-90
days.
For Chronic Illness Management, this is an ongoing process.
For Nursing Home – Long Term Care Management, this could take from 1 – 6 months to resolve, depending on the situation. This area is hard to predict.
Q: How does this process work?
A: The party who is
interested in hiring MFC should contact us. (See Contact
information tab)
MFC will gather information
from the party and review the case to see if indeed it is a good
candidate for savings.
If the case is a good
candidate for savings, the party will sign the appropriate medical
release form to allow MFC to work in their behalf. A contract will
also be signed between the party and MFC. MFC will then contact the
hospital or the appropriate medical provider to start the process.
Q: Will my medical information be kept confidential?
A: Absolutely!
All medical information is kept strictly
confidential.
Q: How does MFC manage chronic diseases?
A:
MFC have experience Registered Nurses with years of Medical Case
Management experience.
With the help of the patient, healthcare
providers, and the insurance carrier, MFC teaches the patient how to
manage their disease process efficiently, keeping them as healthy as
possible, educating them about their disease, utilizing medical
resources, decreasing hospital admissions, and decreasing their out of
pocket health care costs.
Q: How can MFC help me get my Long
Term Care – Nursing Home
Benefits paid?
A: Many times,
unfortunately, insurance carriers will deny paying for healthcare
benefits unless the patient and/or family fights back to have their
benefits paid.
MFC understands that some families do not know
“how” to fight back. MFC has the medical knowledge and experience to
know “how” to fight back.
MFC understands the rules of “meeting criteria,”
understands the “buttons to push,” and the “questions to ask” to get the
bills paid for the patient, while maintaining a professional - positive
relationship with the payer.
Q: What does MFC charge for their services?
A: 20% of Savings.
IF NO SAVINGS, NO CHARGE.
